Desensitization to Violence: How Media Exposure Shapes Society
The state of our world today is deeply troubling. Every time we turn on the news, we are inundated with reports of murders and violence, as if it has become as common as sand on the beach. It’s alarming that what was once a grave moral principle—“thou shall not kill”—seems to have lost its significance.
Walking outside used to be safe, a time to relax and unwind, but now even in broad daylight, people fear robbery and violence. It seems that the value of human life has diminished, and respect for others has eroded. The frequency of school shootings, armed robberies, domestic violence incidents like spousal and filial killings, highlights a disturbing trend.
What has happened to our world and our country? The news is saturated with horrifying stories, and it feels like the media is profiting from this chaos. It’s a dire situation.
What is causing this breakdown in our society? Is it poverty, envy, lack of employment opportunities, or perhaps a decline in moral values? This generation appears to be witnessing a decay in morals unlike any seen before. In schools, students disrespect their teachers, parents struggle to control their children, and there’s a pervasive sense of entitlement among young people.
It feels like we are witnessing a prophecy unfolding before our eyes. What a time to be alive.
